Little Trentinney sits deep in spectacular rolling countryside, 2.5 miles inland from the coast and the nearest village, Port Isaac. The unspoilt landscape around the cottage itself is protected as an AGLV (Area of Great Landscape Value), while the North Cornwall Coast AONB (Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty) begins at the top of the hill above the cottage – at St Endellion, whose beautiful church dominates the nearby coastline.
In fact, Little Trentinney sits right in between three of Cornwall’s 12 AONBs. Pentire Point to Widemouth takes in our nearest stretch of coastline (including Port Isaac, Polzeath and Tintagel); the Camel Estuary section incorporates Rock, Daymer, Padstow and Wadebridge, which you can see from the cottage; and Bodmin Moor, whose two ‘mountains’, Roughtor and Brown Willy, are visible from the hills above the cottage. A fourth AONB, Trevose Head to Stepper Point, starts at Padstow.
The beauty of Little Trentinney, though, is that while you’re close to all that North Cornwall has to offer, the cottage – nestled in the landscape, with fields on all four sides – feels a world away from the crowded beaches and bottleneck towns. Distances here are counted in fields – you’re one away from your farmer neighbours, and two from the nearest road. Access to the cottage is via a half-mile private paved track.
With 360-degree panoramas of the North Cornish countryside, and the absolute peace that comes from total privacy, Little Trentinney really is a retreat like no other.
